In the midst of the crowd, a thousand gazes cross, get lost, and find each other. Each gaze, upon touching the other, recognizes and creates meaning. The gaze not only observes but gives existence to what is seen — as Sartre proposed, the gaze of the other defines us, making us conscious of ourselves.
The gaze is more than simple perception; it is a point of desire and an absence that moves us. It is not only about what we see, but what we long to see through the eyes of the other. The gaze symbolizes this constant longing and the visual journey that never completes.
